Bargaining

Collective bargaining is an  important function of any union. Through collective bargaining, we can secure better working conditions and protections. Our first current collective bargaining agreement (CBA) expired on June 2024 and in January 2024 we started negotiating our successor agreement with the OSU administration.

After sixteen months of bargaining, we have come to a Tentative Agreement (TA) on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with OSU’s administration. Based on responses to our bargaining survey, participation in bargaining forums, and hundreds and hundreds of conversations with academic faculty across OSU, we entered these negotiations committed to advancing stability, equity, and respect for faculty.

While we did not win everything we wanted or everything faculty deserve, we believe we won the best agreement that was possible in the face of an intransigent administration and amidst the continuing chaos and uncertainty in our country. We locked in key protections we won in our first contract and secured significant new provisions that advance faculty stability, equity, and respect.
